How to Make Clay Owl Planter:
- Take equal parts of the Resin and hardener from the Fevicryl Shilpkar Clay, Mix them well until they blend in as one. Apply some talcum powder to keep off the clay from sticking to your hands.
- Take a small amount of clay and roll it into a loop, making the crown of the owl.
- Now take some clay and roll it into small balls, press them lightly, making two small discs. These will be the eyes of the owl. Place them in the center of the crown, add two smaller discs over them to make the eyelids lightly press with one end of the ice cream sticks, making a pattern around the eyes.
- Next up, we will make the wings of the owl. Roll small loops and shape them into a long tear, then fill the wings with small feathers, as shown above, starting from the bottom to the top. Cover the back and front of the owl with feathers.
- Then paint the owl with the color of your choice, let it dry and seal off with varnish or apply a coat of mod podge. Not only does it seal the pot, but also adds a sheen to the sculpture.
- Add a plant of your choice and your planter is ready.
This is the beauty of Air Dry Clay. We can shape it into whatever we like. Just like these adorable trinket dishes, a moon, a face clay dish and a flora pressed dish. Do have a look, I am sure you will like them too.
As Jean-Jacques Rousseau quotes:
The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless.”
