Make your own Morrocan Lanterns

Make Morrocan Lanterns at home

Hii there!!

Have you seen Morrocan Lanterns trending on Etsy lately? They are enchantingly gorgeous!! I have always wanted to make these for so long now. These glittery cute thingies catch my attention all the time! But did you know they can be made at home? They are very easy to make and I am in love with how they have turned out. Looks pretty good to me and I hope you will love them too!

Things you need:

  • Tinted Mason Jars (any size of your choice)
  • Gold Glass Liner or any Metallic Gloss enamel or Black glass Liner
  • Gold wire
  • Pliers

How to make ??

  • To make Moroccan lanterns, you need tinted jars, you can buy them or you can make tinted jars at home.
  • Draw a freehand pattern on the jar or you can choose a stencil or draw/ print on paper the pattern you wish to paint on. you can place the paper inside the jar and tape it to keep it in place.
  • Grab the Glass liner (Gold/Black) and trace the design.

Note: I have used a Gold Glass Liner. The black liner looks great, Just make sure it compliments the color of your jar. Like, a black liner will look pretty good on a yellow or pink tinted jar.

You can add some rhinestone or gems if you wish to, completely your choice.

For the handle use the craft Gold wire, Start by wrapping the wire around the jar and twist it and cut the rest with the plier. Take another piece of wire, make a U shape and thread it through,  twist the ends to make a ring. Use pliers to make sure the twists are secure.

Repeated the same process with an orange and a green. I wanted to make a blue one.  I am obsessed with blue these days, and this looks great on a  blue-tinted and bright pink jar.  Maybe, I will make them again, ‘someday’.
