Thank you for your help! I have a problem with fermentation, as it’s dry and extremely hot outside, but we’re dealing with mildew in the house. What do I do?

  • Kat

I cannot tell you how many other people have NO CLUE how to make rice water. They put it in the fridge “to ferment it”. I was rinsing the rice until there was no milky liquid because another blog insisted that was necessary and that leaving it out for 12 hours would ferment it. My only problem is that outside, it’s over a 100 degrees F and we have to use a dehumidifier and empty it daily because the mold and mildew is so bad. I use rice when my phone gets wet or to dry plants on a sunny windowsill without waiting weeks hanging them upside down. How do I ferment it? Can I use an oven at a low temperature with the door cracked open?
Thank you so much for all the information on your website!!

    Hii…
Do we have to wash our face after applying the toner…??
And can we apply salicylic acid gel after applying this toner?.

    • Amisha Gaur

Hey, don’t wash your face after applying the toner. You can use your regular moisturizer or pair this with rice cream as a moisturizer. Check out The Korean skincare routine you will find it there. And I would not suggest pairing this with a salicylic acid gel. Although there is no side effect but keep natural skincare and treatments separate. You can use these alternate nights.

Hi in the foam wash rcp which u have given what will be the shelf life n can we keep at room temperature or do we need to keep refrigerated

    • Amisha Gaur

      Hello Shehnaaz
Since we are using Castile soap and essential oils in the foam wash recipe it has a good shelf life. No need for refrigiration. You can easily keep this for 10- 15 days. However, rice water has a tendency to go rancid, If humidity levels are high at your place then you need to keep a check on the smell of the face wash.

Does it matter which type of rice you use? All I have is jasmine rice at home.

Hello, thank you for this DIY !
The first water of the soaking rice is to keep and then we have to add fresh water to boil the rice ? What amount of water and for how much time ?

    • Amisha Gaur

Hey Adriane, these are two DIFFERENT ways to make the rice water.
you can use either of them.
The first way is to use the water in which the rice has been soaked.
The other way is to boil the rice until the water looks thick and rice turns mushy, time depends on the quantity of rice you are boiling.
