DIY Lotus Tealight Holders

Hi There,

Today, we are going to make Lotus Tealight Holders, a dollar tree DIY  which can turn a boring glass holder into something very attractive. This is a perfect gift idea for Diwali, Christmas or a housewarming. Although you must have seen the Lotus holders floating around the decor stores, they look so attractive that you almost feel tempted to buy them.  However, With just a CD and a few plastic spoons from your home, you can easily make these Lotus Tealight Holders. 

So, let’s get started…..

Diy Lotus Tealight Holders

Supplies:

• Old CD’s
• Plastic spoons
• Glue Gun
• Tealights
• Glass Holder
• Scissors
• Spray Paint

Instructions:

Method 1

• Firstly, we need to prep the spoons.  for this, we will have to cut the spoons at three Different lengths for three diff layers.

• Take the spoons and trim the neck off. Keep in mind you need to create three layers of spoons slightly shorter for each layer. While trimming keep the spoons organized to avoid any confusion later.

• Stick the glass holder onto the CD surface with the hot glue gun.

• Secondly, Place the spoons around the holder so that you get the idea of how much you will need. I needed Twelve to go around the very first layer.

• Put a dab of glue on the backside of the spoon and stick to the CD’s surface and similarly repeat all the way around.
• For the second Layer, Dab the glue and stick in between the spoons of the first layer. Likewise, repeat all the way around.

• Repeat the process with the third layer as well. It should start looking like a lotus flower by now.
• Now, This is completely optional but you can fill in some more spoons if you feel like, just to make the Lotus Tealight Holder look more fuller.

Method 2:

• For the second method, it’s more like a bud of the Lotus, although it looks like a Dragon egg to me….. haha. Just Kidding!! 😉
• Watch the tutorial above, it’s almost the same. The only difference is that we will be applying the glue on the front side of the spoon now, and also on the edges where the spoon will touch the spoons of the first layer.
• Thirdly, spray paint the tealight holders evenly coating the spoons and let them dry.
• And VOILA!! The lotus Tealight Holders are Ready.
