Moon Phase Wall Hanging | Easy Decor | The DIY Hustle

Moon Phase Wall Hanging has always been on my DIY List until I figured out to use paper for making this. Yes, you read this right, this is made of paper. Cardstock Paper. This comes in various thicknesses and colors. We can also make this Moon phase wall hanging with clay. I have used a golden 200 GSM cardstock paper and Trust me, Nobody can figure out if this is made out of metal or paper until they touch it with their bare hands. There are so many things that we can do with cardstock paper. Check out this Sunburst Mirror, also made of cardstock.

So, Let’s Dive in

Materials required :

• Cardstock Paper Get this Here 
• Gold Chain.        Get this here 
• Glue Gun            Get this Here 
• Markers/ pencil
• Tape
• Any Circular lid

Here’s How to make Moon Phase Wall Hanging

Use the lid of an app size, the size of your liking, and place it on the cardstock paper. Trace around the lid with the help of a marker. This will be the full phase of the moon.

Trace again, making a partial crescent this time. Repeat until you trace all the phases. It took only one cardstock paper for all the phases of the moon.

Cut out all the shapes and lay them down so you get the idea of how to join them together. You can orient them inward or outward like the lunar moon phase.

Since this is really light, I have used a gold jewelry chain to keep it from flipping. To attach the phases to the chain, I used hot glue. And that’s it!

You can attach this piece to the wall with the help of tape. I have used doctor’s tape to secure the hanging to the wall.
