Rich in antioxidants, Carotenoids, flavinoids like b- carotene, Zeaxanthin, lutein and Moreover, it’s a good source of Vit. A Vit C, papain and aHa’s. It’s great for removing dead skin cells and dissolves inactive proteins and dead skin cells. It naturally detoxifies the skin, has skin lightening properties that help clear blemishes and pigmentation.


Ingredients required for Papaya facial at home 

  • Papaya puree ( Cut the papaya into cubes, grind in a blender and your puree is ready)
  • Curd 
  • Honey
  • Castor Sugar
  • Milk Cream
  • Lemon juice 
  • Fuller’s Earth
  • Essential oil ( optional )

Steps for Papaya Facial at Home

Cleansing–   First of all wash your face with lukewarm water. Take 1 Tsp papaya puree, to this add 1 tsp Curd. Gently massage for 2-3 mins, wipe off your face with cotton dibbed in rose water.

Steam– Now, add boiling water to a bowl, add 2- 3 drops of essential oil to water, (this step is optional). Create a teepee over your head….. lol !! I mean cover your head and shoulders with a towel, keep your face about one foot from the steam. Close your eyes and relax for five minutes. 

Scrub –  Take 1 Tsp Papaya puree and some castor sugar. Mix and start scrubbing gently for about five minutes.  Gently rub around the delicate areas i.e under eyes.

Massage- Take some papaya puree, to this add lavender essential oil and milk cream ( malai). Use gentle pressure to massage the face. likewise, massage under the eyes and alongside the neck. Gently press fingers above the brows. Keep Massaging for five minutes. 

Face Mask– Take a Tsp of  Papaya Puree and a tsp of fuller’s earth, add honey to make a paste. If you have oily skin add Lemon juice to it. Keep it on for 15-20 mins, meanwhile cover your eyes with two cucumber slices. Wash off with cold water, to seal the open pores.

Face Moisturizer- Take 1 Tsp of papaya puree, add 1 tsp aloe vera gel, few drops of sweet almond oil and a capsule of Vit E. Blend together and gently massage all over your face. This moisturizer works great as a night cream, dab a small amount and keep it overnight.


Benefits of Papaya facial

Papaya deep cleanses and enhances blood circulation by detoxifying the skin. The B- Carotene, and enzymes present in papaya not only help in improving skin texture but also the complexion. In addition to this, it helps clear pigmentation and blackheads. the protein dissolving enzyme Papain along with Vit A and AHA’s reduce inflammation and dissolve inactive keratin proteins, in other words, remove dead skin cells. The antioxidants present in papaya help fight the free radical damage which reverses any signs of aging, reduces fine lines and wrinkles.


Tip:

Do not toss the papaya peel in the garbage, you can use the peel to cleanse your skin. gently rub the peel over your face and leave it for about five to ten minutes.

Doing this once in a month is sufficient to deep cleanse your skin. However, to reap the best of facial at home, try taking the facial at night or late eve since it allows more time to absorb all the nutrition. If you happen to take this facial in the daytime do not forget to apply sunscreen after you moisturize your skin.
