Hello there,

Sea Shells are a unique and creative way to add colorful charm to your front porch with this easy DIY Sea Shell Planter. A great keepsake from your last beach vacation. Collect as many as you can or buy them in different shape or sizes to make this Planter.

Things you will need to make the  Planter;

  • Sea Shells
  • Glue gun/Glue sticks
  • Terracotta pot/ plastic bottle
  • Some stones (optional)

How to make the Sea Shell Planter;

  • To start off, Gather your supplies, rinse the seashell in water to remove sand if any, dry them out in sun or with a cloth piece. Also, visualize how you would like the planter to look like, Think of different patterns and then start making the Planter.
  • Take the planter or empty terracotta pot/ plastic bottle and glue the bottom of the shell to the terracotta pot or plastic bottle. I have already added the plant, but it’s better to start on an empty terracotta pot or plastic bottle.

Here’s the timelapse of the video;

  • Next up, start by gluing the shells, you can start from top to bottom or from bottom to top. Do the same with the second layer, third layer and so on.
  • If you have different sizes available then you can start with the bigger ones first, descending or ascending to the smaller ones for the rest layers.
  • Once it’s done, fill in the spaces with pebbles or stones. Add a plant and your Sea Shell Planter is ready.

There are so many ways you can use Seashells in your  Home decor. Like these oyster shells and hollowed shells. Simply, fill in the shells with some pebbles and add soil and the plant of your choice.

Top these seashells with gorgeous succulents. Succulents and seashells look so classy together!! Unfortunately, the weather here doesn’t favor succulents growth, so I have added a money plant to the shell. You can add the plant of your choice. I water with a spray bottle to get right to the roots. Moreover, Seashells are rich in calcium which is a great nutrient for plant growth.
